When you log in to your Mac, you are greeted with a nice image that you selected when configuring your device. Previously, you only had the choice of a number of images selected by Apple or a photo. Nowadays there are many more options and you can make the image even more personal. For example, choose an Animoji or Memoji on the Mac login screen. Just like on your iPhone, you can put this together yourself. Have you created one before on another device? Then it will automatically appear here! If you choose a Memoji, it will also move when you log in, extra fun!
This is how you change your Mac profile picture
This is how you change the profile photo:
- Open the System Settings.
- Navigate to Users & Groups.
- Click on the image next to your username.
- Choose one of the options, in this case: Memoji.
- Click on the Memoji of your choice or create a new one.
- Choose from one of the poses and choose a nice background color from the Style option.
- Then press Save.
Change Apple ID image
The profile picture has now been changed. As you can see, the photo with your Apple ID has now also changed to the image you just selected. Would you like to keep your profile photo separate from the image of your Apple ID? Then follow these steps:
- Open the System Settings.
- Click on your existing profile photo at the top left.
- Click on your current Apple ID photo. The text Change appears on the photo.
- You will now see a similar screen, where you can select a suitable photo, emoji or Memoji. The options in the left bar also allow you to choose Monogram or Camera. If you want an anonymous image, tap Suggestions. You will then see a number of images of Apple flowers, globes, golf balls and the like.
- Then press Save.
If you have followed all these steps, the images of your Mac login screen and Apple ID will differ.
Try out all the options and make your Mac a little more personal! There’s a lot more you can do with the Mac login screen, but we’ll tell you about that in another tip.
