The powerful Pierer Group, owner of KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas and part of Rieju, continues with the expansion plans of the Spanish brand GasGas. Some plans that, in addition, are accompanied by sporting successes, such as the last Dakar Rally, which Sam Sunderland achieved for GasGas. The Moto3 team with the same name should also bring victories to the Girona factory.
Now, and according to some homologation names (GG ES 700 and GG SM 700) we know that GasGas is preparing the launch of two new 700 models, one enduro and one supermotard, which will also be able to circulate legally, as stated in said homologation.
Everything indicates that these two new bikes will be based on the KTM 690 SMC R and the 690 Enduro R, in the same way as the Husqvarna 701 Supermoto and 701 Enduro.
In other words, they will mount the well-known and powerful single-cylinder LC with 693 cc and 74 HP of power, the tubular steel chassis, aluminum swingarm, WP suspension, etc.
One of the curiosities of these two bikes is that the tank is mounted at the rear, under the seat.
They will be, therefore, the two GasGas with the largest displacement ever manufactured… with a KTM heart, yes.
