Vodafone TV customers, regardless of the package they have, will be able to enjoy, as usual, two new guest channels for this month of August. On this occasion, the channels ‘Discovery Channel’ and ‘AXN Movies’ will be added to the line-up. Both channels will replace the two previous guest channels, ‘National Geographic Wild’ and ‘MTV Live’.
Thus, throughout the month of August, when traditionally more people go on holiday in Spain, users of the operator’s television will be able to access more different content to clear their minds in their free time. This is because both Discovery Channel and the range of films on AXN Movies are characterised by offering very varied and different content. On the one hand, Discovery Channel will provide the type of entertainment or travel programmes that many of us are already familiar with, while AXN Movies contains films of all genres and from different eras, allowing us to revisit classics and forgotten gems.
You will be able to access Discovery Channel on channel 22, and AXN Movies, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, on channel 23. Thus, with the Sony seal of quality, on channel 23 we will be able to find a wide variety of films: classics from the 2000s such as Miss Congeniality (2000) or Doce en Casa (2000), as well as more recent films such as Fiesta de empresa (2016) or Ojalá Estaba aquà (2014). Previously called ‘AXN White’, the new AXN Movies is dedicated exclusively to films, launching as a premium channel for the first time in May 2023.
On the other hand, Discovery Channel, which is usually located on channel 102 of Vodafone TV, is characterized by guaranteed entertainment programs, which often take place in faraway countries, or which take us to auction houses, show us striking house renovations or take us on excursions to search for ghosts or to border controls. Different content with which to disconnect from the usual programming of other channels.
Vodafone TV’s summer proposal
The red operator is thus betting on content that frees the mind and focuses on pure entertainment, which with films from all eras leaves behind the latest releases in the billboard to promote instead a visit to the family. AXN has in its catalogue romantic, comic, thriller or action films, thus having something for everyone and allowing us to revisit films from previous years that we may not have given a chance to at the time.
Discovery Channel’s catalogue currently includes programmes such as ‘Delincuentes al desnudo’, ‘Detenidos’, ‘Supervivencia a flote’, ‘Ciencia a lo bestia’ and ‘Cazadores de piedras preciosas’. The channel thus tries to keep viewers glued to the screen with its offering of true crime, exploration, travel and nature, by having special broadcasts dedicated to animals, such as ‘shark week’ from 5 to 11 August.
As always, the inclusion of guest channels will make it easier for subscribers to check out new content that they may not normally have access to, thereby helping them consider upgrading their TV package to one with content that better suits their interests.
