Like any device that can be connected via WiFi, the truth is that at any time it can give a connection failure. Conga robot vacuum cleaners offer all kinds of functions just by being connected to the Internet, such as controlling the cleaning modes or regulating the suction power from the application. But, if it has started to give you problems, calm down because it has a solution.
More and more users are enjoying these types of cleaning devices in their homes, since they make the task of keeping a clean house much easier. Even some, in addition to vacuuming the floor, also scrub or even mop. However, like any device, they can always cause some kind of problem. In this case, if the Conga has not recently connected to the WiFi network, then you have to get down to work, since luckily it is easy to fix.
No matter what Cecotec Conga model you have, there are several who have experienced this same error with the Internet connection. But, there is no need to worry, since there is a method that can quickly solve this problem with WiFi.
WiFi connection failure in the Conga
Cecotec’s Conga robot vacuum cleaners can be quickly controlled from the app, for this you only need to connect this device to WiFi. But why doesn’t it connect? Well, in these cases, one of the most common problems is that you have not connected the robot to the same frequency band of the wireless network that your smartphone is connected to.
In fact, not all models are compatible with the 5 GHz band. So that could be the problem. When downloading the app on your mobile and configuring the Conga, you have to make sure that the smartphone is connected to the 2.4 GHz WiFi network. This way you will avoid this problem. However, check out the specifications of the Conga model you have at home, since some are already compatible with the other frequency band.
If you do not know how to do it on your own, we will tell you in a few steps how you have to solve the WiFi connection error of the Conga:
- Go to the phone settings and connect to the 2.4 GHz network from your smartphone. You can distinguish it from the 5 GHz network, because 5G or Plus appears on these.
- Now it’s time to take a look at the Band Steering technology. With it, only a single WiFi network appears, since the connected devices can automatically switch from 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz. Although in the Conga it can cause problems.
- Therefore, you have to force the 2.4 GHz connection on the router. If your router has a 5 GHz network button, press it to deactivate this band. If you don’t have it, do the following:
- Enter the device settings by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in the browser’s address bar.
- Enter the username and password.
-
Find the Band Steering feature and turn it off.
In this way, you can only connect from your smartphone to the 2.4 GHz wireless network and the Conga will have Internet without problems. If the connection still fails, turn off the Cecotec robot vacuum cleaner and leave it disconnected for a while (they recommend between one and two hours). Then, set it up again from your mobile app, so remember to be connected to the 2.4 GHz network.
