Since its acquisition by Elon Musk, the social network X, which many of you know as Twitter, has not stopped losing users for various reasons. Hence, the tycoon is currently trying to carry out various movements to recover part of these.

Many of the changes that Musk has implemented on the social platform over the last few months have caused enormous rejection by the majority of regulars. But seen now at the beginning of 2025, it is preparing a series of new functions to attract those who are abandoning, by choice or obligation, one of its main competitors.

Specifically, we are referring to TikTok, a social network that is currently about to be completely blocked in the North American country. Hence precisely why several social platforms considered rivals have stepped up to take advantage of the situation. All with the healthy objective of attracting those who are forced to leave the ByteDance video sharing platform.

As it could not be otherwise, one of them is X, the aforementioned social network owned by Elon Musk. We tell you all this because its top managers have just announced the incorporation of a new tab dedicated to video. Initially this tool is launched for users based in the United States. To give you a better idea of what it will offer us, say that the tab allows users to access exclusively video content on the X platform. In addition, this allows them to largely distance themselves from exclusive content focused on the text.

This will be the videos of the social network X

At this point, we can affirm that this latest addition to X that we are talking about is quite similar to what we have already seen on other occasions. In fact, it reminds many of the Reels tab that we have on Instagram or the short videos on YouTube.

And we can say that over the last few years, the old Twitter has invested a little more in video content. For example, after the acquisition by Musk, the billionaire redoubled his commitment to this content by allowing Premium subscribers to upload videos of up to 2 hours in length.

Now, after the US Supreme Court upheld the TikTok ban, Elon Musk has the idea of bringing Vine back to X, where he says they are studying it. As many of you may remember, Vine was a short video sharing platform that allowed Twitter users to capture and share looped clips of up to 6 seconds. This is something that disappeared last year 2017.

It is clear that after the TikTok debacle in the North American country, with this movement X wants his piece of the pie. He wants to capture part of all those who are orphaned from the Chinese social network and who can continue publishing their video content, now on Musk’s platform.
