Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter

The richest man in the world has seemed to be also the owner of one of the most popular social networks of the moment. Elon Musk wants to buy Twitter and offers 43,000 million dollars to control the platform.

The Tesla CEO is one of the most active personalities on Twitter today. His profile is a source of information (he has given the first news about the electric vehicle brand) and controversy (such as when he launched a survey for his followers to decide if he put part of his Tesla shares up for sale) .

It has even provoked the reaction of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who after Musk spoke of Spain as a possible location for a “massive solar array that could power all of Europe”, encouraged him to invest in our country.

Controlling shareholder

Elon Musk’s interest in the bird’s social network is not new. A few weeks ago he became a majority shareholder (although he is no longer); now, his bet is much higher since he intends to become the owner and lord of Twitter.

To be the one who controls the social network, Musk has launched a hostile takeover bid of 43,000 million euros (54.20 dollars per share).

“It is my best and last offer” assured the tycoon.

Elon Musk wants to transform Twitter

Twitter is one of the most popular social networks of the moment but it is not a business that brings enormous benefits. This makes many wonder why the CEO of Tesla wants to buy this platform.

Musk is not really moved by money. As he has assured in the letter sent to the directors of Twitter, his intention is to transform the social network. “I have invested in Twitter because I believe in its potential to be the platform for freedom of expression around the world and I believe that freedom of expression is the social imperative for a functioning democracy,” he said.

This message has not surprised his followers since the businessman has been criticizing Twitter’s content moderation policies for weeks.

It remains to be seen what the response of the Twitter managers seems to be that they are not very keen on everything being under the control of Elon Musk.
