Of course, we are talking about plug-in hybrid cars and averages approved by their corresponding manufacturers. Traditional hybrids have moderate consumption, but much higher than those achieved by plug-ins thanks to the electric autonomy they offer, which allows them to travel a large part of those 100 km without starting the thermal engine, only with the battery charge.

The king of consumption is the Mercedes C 300 e with an approved average consumption of just 0.5 l/100 km. The German sedan offers excellent performance by combining a gasoline engine and an electric motor for a resulting power of 313 hp and an electric range of up to 111 kilometers thanks to its 25.4 kWh capacity battery.

Next on the list, tied with the first place finisher, is the 4Matic Mercedes GLC 300. The new generation of the German SUV homologates 0.5 l/100 km of average consumption, has a combined power of 245 kW (333 hp) thanks to its diesel engine and a 31.2 kWh capacity battery. It also achieves a range in electric mode of up to 117 km on a single charge.

The prices of the plug-in hybrid GLC for Spain have not been announced yet.

BMW 225e xDrive Active Tourer

Occupying third place in the ranking of the 10 hybrid cars that consume the least, we find the BMW 225e xDrive Active Tourer with 0.6 l/100 km. It has a power of 245 hp, a battery with 14.2 kWh and a range in electric mode that reaches 92 kilometers on a single charge.
