As Microsoft promised a while ago, little by little we are seeing the arrival of its artificial intelligence, Copilot, to multiple applications and platforms owned by the company. Of course, this is something that extends to its main project, the Windows operating system.
And the software giant from the beginning bet heavily on this growing technology in which multiple companies are entering. Furthermore, we must take into consideration that this has only just begun, AI will little by little become an increasingly important part of our lives. This is something that will be clearly evident on desktops and mobile devices.
As many of you have already seen first-hand, the aforementioned Microsoft Copilot is already an implicit part of Windows 11. We can access this artificial intelligence that the company provides us in different ways. At the same time, it is expected that it will not stop growing and improving by adding new functionalities to the existing ones. As it could not be otherwise, the firm itself tries to encourage the use of its AI, both here in Windows and in the rest of its proprietary applications.
Well, we tell you all this because recently the native Copilot application in Windows 11 is deploying a new key combination for use. In reality we are referring to a shortcut to try to facilitate the implementation of artificial intelligence. To date, most of us had assumed that this would be solved using the Win + C combination, Cortana’s keyboard shortcut.
Key combination to open Copilot in Windows
But actually the company wants us to use a new key combination to access Copilot, we mean the shortcut Alt + Space. And after a new update, we have seen a pop-up window that urges users to modify the existing keyboard shortcut until now.
Many of you will already know that the new AI application made its official appearance last December. Although it was initially sold to us as a native application for Windows 11 from Copilot, in reality we found a web application in disguise. Hence, right now Microsoft wants us to get used to using the Alt + Space shortcut to launch this intelligent functionality.
What’s more, once we have installed the aforementioned native application in the operating system, a window opens from the beginning that informs about the new default shortcut for the app itself. We must take into consideration that the software giant is betting very heavily on the implementation of AI, especially in Windows 11. Copilot is expected to gradually evolve to add new functionalities and modes of use that improve the experience in the operating system.
But with everything and with this and the margin of this key combination that they recommend, other sections related to the application of AI should also improve. And so far many have complained about the enormous consumption of computer resources that this native application makes by default.
