How to make a professional outline in Word?
In this guide, we will specifically dedicate ourselves to teaching you about one type of scheme: the graphic scheme. With which, we will be focused on the visual, attractive part of a content or element.
Having entered Office Word, you will look for the Insert option, present in the upper bar of the program. There, a bunch of different options will be displayed. Do not panic, the ones you will have to handle are few and simple.
Look for the Forms expandable menu, when you click on it, you will have a wide catalog of predetermined forms to insert. For this scheme, we will choose one of the rectangles; either the one with straight corners, or the one with rounded corners. Once selected, we can draw rectangles by dragging our cursor, while keeping the left mouse button pressed.
When you have already entered enough rectangles, differentiating their importance by size, you must move them and give structure to the scheme. Holding down the Ctrl key, and then clicking on the rectangles, will select them all at the same time.
When you have them selected, you will look for the Align option in the upper menu, any of the alignments will cause your rectangles to line up and separate at equal distances.
If you already have that handled, you can continue by right-clicking the rectangles, and choosing the Add Text option from the menu. Now you will be able to enter the textual content of each part of the scheme, knowing that in the Start part (present in the options above), you can change the size, font and color of what you write.
Returning to Insert—>Forms you can choose an arrow or key, to join the texts of the scheme. These are drawn in the same way as rectangles or any of the other options. Once inserted, you have the possibility of modifying their shapes and curvatures, clicking on them and moving the yellow roundels.
It’s time for you to experiment on your own, and try to generate a nice piece of work to present. Remember to save the file as you work, so you don’t lose any progress.
