Something quite normal is to have different bookmarks in our browser with the media websites, social networks or services that we usually access. We also often save interesting pages of articles or products, so we can have them on hand for later. Well, I found an extension called Easy Bookmark Viewer that allows better organization of bookmarks and is much more visual.
Browsers, below the navigation bar, include the bookmarks bar. There we can save any web page that we want to visit in the future or that we think we will visit repeatedly.
They offer quite limited capabilities, allowing you to group them by folders, rename them for simplicity and a small preview. Opening folders usually involves a fairly large on-screen menu which can sometimes be problematic. Above all, if we have different subfolders within the folder, which is common.
Improve the view of bookmarks with Easy Bookmark Viewer
Something that has never convinced me, precisely, is the bookmarks bar. This seems very simple to me and with more than limited functions that do not meet my needs. For work I have many folders on the bar and inside other folders with different elements. In addition, I have some loose websites in the bar due to their recurring access.
I have always missed being able to expand this bookmarks bar, making it more radius and easier to find what I am looking for. Thanks to the Easy Bookmark Viewer extension, I no longer have this problem. This extension for the Google Chrome browser does this precisely, it generates a page where the bookmarks are displayed.
When we click the “+” symbol to open a new tab, it shows us a page with all the saved bookmarks. It offers us a very clean and computerized grid design where we can find the saved bookmarks.
The different bookmarks are automatically grouped into the categories of “all bookmarks”, bookmarks bar” and “other bookmarks” to help us find them more quickly.
All bookmarks appear in a box where the website icon and title are shown, for easy recognition. If we can’t find the marker we want, it includes a simple search engine, which also reduces the time it takes to locate the marker we want.
This extension seeks to offer us a much simpler system for viewing markers and locating the one we are interested in. It’s much better than browsing the conventional bookmarking system, which is much more limited. No matter how well we have them organized, sometimes it can be a bit cumbersome to navigate this system.
One fundamental thing, for me, that any software or extension must have is that it has a dark mode. If it doesn’t have a dark mode and it’s not something I need very much, I usually don’t end up installing it. I have long used this mode whenever I can, as it allows me to reduce eye strain.
How to download the extension
I must say that I have been using the extension for a long time and it is very practical. I can move through bookmarks much faster and it makes me much more productive. If you are interested in trying the Easy Bookmark Viewer extension, you can install it from here.
Once downloaded, this add-on will appear in the list of add-ons in our browser, and we can pin it to the extensions bar so we can have it on hand whenever we need it. If we get tired of it, or we simply are no longer interested in it, we can uninstall it from the browser and use the bookmarks manager again as usual.
