Announced some time ago, the Lotus Eletre has finally been unveiled, a model that represents a before and after in the history of the British brand: it is the first SUV that the company has ever designed and, furthermore, it has chosen for entering the SUV segment with a 100% electric model.

It is a large SUV, which reaches 5,103 mm in length, up to 2,231 mm in width (varies depending on the mirrors), 1,630 mm in height and has a 3,019 mm wheelbase.

Its design applies the Lotus formula to a format totally unpublished by the company, so that, despite its large dimensions, it has sought to create an image that is as sporty as possible.

The front features a black molding that performs the visual functions of the grille and air intakes, the headlights are very stylized and divided, its silhouette is athletic, although the rear is more voluminous, it has 23-inch wheels and in the rear it has of two small spoilers, the pilots are formed by a fine line and the bumper is topped by a diffuser.

Inside it has a four-seater configuration and the capacity of its trunk has not been disclosed. As expected, the finishes are first class and what is most surprising is that, in addition to a 15.1-inch screen, the instrument panel is very thin and extends to the passenger seat.

In terms of technology, conventional mirrors can be replaced by digital ones that integrate three cameras, and it has a LiDAR to help with autonomous functions, although more has not been specified.

As for its technical section, Lotus points out that it is an all-wheel drive model that will deliver from 600 hp, with an engine for the front axle and another for the rear, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h.

It has also been revealed that it will use a 100 kWh battery, which will give it a range of 600 kilometers, and it uses an 800v architecture, so it will be compatible with fast charging systems of up to 350 kW, which allows it to refill in 20 minutes energy to travel an additional 400 kilometers.

The Eletre has been developed on the new Lotus platform, called Electric Premium Architecture (EPA) and which stands out for its versatility, being able to adapt to models ranging from segment C to E.

To ensure the company’s own behavior (within the fact that it is a model of large size and weight, although it has not been specified) it has adaptive suspension, directional rear axle, active height regulation, torque distribution, ceramic brakes with calipers 10 piston and active stabilizer bar. It has four driving modes: Range, Tour, Sport, Off-Road and Individual.

The brand points out that the Lotus Eletre is already on sale, but at the moment its price has not been revealed, and indicates that the first deliveries will begin in 2023 in China, Europe and the United Kingdom; spreading to the rest of the markets afterwards.
