On Sunday afternoon, many Movistar clients (and also O2) began to have problems entering certain web pages. What seemed like a punctual failure, as can happen at times, it seems that it is not so. In fact, more than 15 hours have passed since the first reports and the problem continues. Specifically, it affects websites that use cloudflare cache and security services, in its free version.

Quickly, many users, through social networks and forums on the Internet, began to say that they could not even enter the configuration of their own websites, which they manage through Cloudflare. Therefore, from the beginning it was seen that the problem came from some type of blockage by Movistar to the route to this type of sites.

Problems with sites that use cloudflare

In the social network X, for example, there are many messages from Movistar and O2 customers complaining that they cannot access many websites. Some even indicate that it is not the first time that happens to them, also on pages related to Cloudflare. What happens is that Movistar is blocking the IP addresses of a multitude of websites that use the free cloudflare services.

It should be noted that the problem affects those who try to connect through fiber optics, but not from mobile data. The problem is identical whether you have hired Movistar, as if it is O2, your subsidiary company. That problem disappears as soon as a person from another operator tries to access those websites. In some cases, the problem does not affect the web in its entirety, but if, for example, when loading images on that site.

Although at first the expected thing was that everything worked quickly again, while writing this article there is still problems to enter many pages. However, if you are a Movistar or O2 client, you can easily solve this inconvenience.

Web page block

Use VPN

In my case, with O2, I have problems since yesterday afternoon to visit some popular websites. However, I have been able to solve it easily. It is enough to install Warp, from Cloudflare, as well as any VPN application of guarantees. In this way, the connection first goes through a server and avoids the Movistar block.

When using the Tracert command, with some of the blocked websites, in the symbol of the Windows system, the problem is clearly seen. However, the problem disappears when using WARP or a VPN.

TRACERT COMMAND TO DETECT BLOCKS

If you are going to install a VPN, we recommend some that work very well, such as Nordvpn, Surfshark either Cyberghost. With all of them, you can navigate from another IP address and, therefore, correct possible blockages of this type.

It is expected that at some point Movistar solves this problem. However, for now it seems to continue and there are many users who continue to put messages through internet forums and social networks, as is the case of X. Therefore, if you have arrived here for having problems entering a website , and you have O2 or Movistar hired, do not worry because it is not a failure of yours.

In short, it seems that there are problems with Cloudflare websites, for those who connect from Movistar and O2 fiber. It is not a problem with your wi-fi repeater, or anything that depends on you. To solve it, use Warp, from Cloudflare, as well as a VPN.
