How to enable GPOs needed for wallpaper?
The Microsoft Windows Server operating system offers great advantages in achieving important tasks, especially at a corporate level. Applied in the field of desktop aesthetics on computers, we will find several customization options, which favor quick configuration for all devices under a specific domain.
Understanding that your goal is to set a unique wallpaper on all desktops, before starting the process you should know how to delete wallpaper history. This way you will avoid leaving any background previously established by the user, after that you can proceed to carry out each of the following steps.
Using the ‘run’ command
Before opening the policy manager, where you will configure the wallpaper rules for the set of devices, it is best to start by creating a shared folder (where all users belonging to the affected domain, you will give them read permission), and enter in it the JPG file chosen as the “regulatory” image for wallpaper.
Make sure that the image has the appropriate resolution and avoid dysfunction, in any case, it is important that you know how to adjust the size of a wallpaper image. After that, it will be time to start the creation of the Group Policy, which will allow you to implement the wallpaper configuration, the easiest way to achieve it is:
- Simultaneously press the “WIN + R” keys, only you will get a new window of the Run command.

Now that you are in the group policy console, you must continue executing the following steps, to successfully modify the wallpaper, through the GPOs:
- Display the following path Forest> Domains> domain.local> Group Policy Objects. Remember that domain.local refers to the real name of your domain.
- Now, on “Group Policy Objects” you right click and select “New”. Give the policy a name, an example might be “Wallpaper Policy”, click OK.
