For many reasons, at this moment, users from all over the world have made the decision to become content creators and publish on YouTube. In this way, to a greater or lesser extent, they share knowledge, curiosities or experiences with streaming portal visitors who are interested in their publications.

The most common thing is that this content that we publish on the video portal owned by Google is viewed by our relatives. Friends and family to whom we communicate the publication as such and they decide to take a look at it. That is the usual, but there are also many content creators who with patience and work have managed to gain a large number of followers who reproduce their publications.

As many of you already know, sometimes these so-called YouTubers have millions of followers and views of their posts. These can belong to all kinds of themes and be created in multiple ways. But whether you are a youtuber with four followers or with four million, you must respect the policies of use of the video platform. This means that the topics not allowed for the publication of videos here must be respected.

On the other hand, if we are already content creators with some success and a certain number of visits, we can even earn money from those publications that we have made. Moreover, there are many people who currently make a living on YouTube by monetizing their videos. Many users from all over the globe dream of being able to become successful youtubers and earn a living in this way. But there is no doubt that this is not easy.

Reasons I’m not making money from my YouTube videos

As with the content policies that we can publish here, there are also certain rules that we must comply with in order to earn money with our creations. It is for all these reasons that we are going to show you some of the most common reasons why certain videos that we have published on the streaming portal are not monetized, although initially they should be.

  • Copyrighted music is played in the background and we do not have the corresponding permissions to publish it.
  • We use third-party video content and we do not have a signed written authorization to add any of it to our posts.
  • I’m streaming a game play, but I don’t own the commercial use rights from the title developer.
  • The same thing happens if we are doing some kind of tutorial that we publish belonging to copyrighted software.
  • We do not have written permission from the owner of the television program, CD or DVD content that we have included in the video posted on YouTube.

We have published a content found on the Internet, but we do not have the necessary publishing permissions provided by the original creator.

All this that we are commenting on really means that when creating our own content to publish it on the streaming portal, we must take care of the elements of third parties that are included. This refers to both audio and videos that are copyrighted by others and we do not have the corresponding permissions. Generally, and to monetize those own creations, YouTube will ask us for written permission from the original creators that we have published and that are not our own.
