Libreoffice is an office suite that has not stopped gaining followers over the years thanks to its advanced functions available. It is currently considered the main free alternative to the popular Microsoft Office, and there are plenty of reasons for this.

In fact, its top managers do not stop updating this alternative, adding new functions and improving both the existing ones and the compatibility with the aforementioned Office files. This allows us to migrate to this proposal using the native Microsoft program files, without any problem.

Not in vain, in these same lines we are going to talk to you about the latest update that the suite has received, with various new features. In this specific update, LibreOffice 24.8.3, its developers wanted to focus mainly on the Writer text editor. Perhaps this is the most widespread and used program, but here we also find a spreadsheet program, another to create multimedia presentations and more.

What’s new in LibreOffice 24.8.3 version

Due to its enormous use in general terms, these are the new features and bug fixes that its developers wanted to include in the new version of the office suite.

  • Table alignment and spacing can be changed through the sidebar.
  • Hyperlink names are now displayed as tooltips.
  • There’s a new Search feature in the sidebar that lists the results of a quick search along with their context.

Of course, and as usual, a good number of bugs, problems and errors of all kinds have also been fixed to ensure that the suite works as stable as possible. Thus, this new version, together with the end of support for the previous one a few weeks ago, marks a turning point for those looking for stability and, at the same time, the latest improvements and features.

How to download the new LibreOffice

I’m sure many of you already know firsthand that here we are referring to an open source project that never stops improving and growing. Furthermore, one of its main attractions, apart from the enormous functionality that this suite offers us, is that we can benefit from all its programs completely free of charge.

For all this we only have to download the latest version of LibreOffice that we have mentioned through its official website. We achieve this through this link. At the same time and as expected, all these applications are available in multiple languages, including Cervantes.
