It may happen that you are not woken up by your Apple Watch in the morning, even though you had set it up. In this tip you can read the possible solutions to the problem.

Does the alarm on your Apple Watch no longer go off? That’s annoying, but fortunately there are a number of possible solutions. We will go through them one by one with you. This way you can continue to use your watch as an alarm clock! These are not official solutions from Apple, but they can work and at least it won’t do any harm.

  • On which days does the alarm go off?
  • Check Siri
  • Clear alarms

On which days does the alarm go off?

You may have only set an alarm on weekdays. In such a case, it is logical that no alarm goes off during the weekend. Therefore, check your alarms in the Clock app on your iPhone to see whether an alarm has been set for every day.

Apple Watch alarm clock not going off? Check your Siri settings

You can set an alarm using Siri by asking with your voice. If you do this on your Apple Watch, you will receive confirmation that the alarm clock is ready. Unfortunately, for some reason, the alarm clock doesn’t always actually activate. Do you notice this happening more often? Then follow these steps to give Siri a little push:

  1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  2. Tap the Siri menu and turn off Listen for “Hey Siri.”
  3. Restart your Apple Watch completely.
  4. Open the Siri settings again and turn the switch back on.

Hey disable Siri Apple Watch

Siri on the Apple Watch should now work properly again. Try setting your alarms via Siri again and, to be sure, first try this during the day to test it. Is it still not working? Then move on to the next solution. From watchOS 8, Siri’s interface becomes clearer and you can quickly open the Alarm Clock app from here to check it.

Remove Apple Watch alarm clock and add it again

Didn’t giving Siri a push help? Don’t worry: there is another possible solution. It means that we will delete all alarms that you currently have set. Then you add them again. This is how it works from your Apple Watch:

  1. Activate Siri and say “Delete all my alarms”.
  2. Confirm that you want to delete all alarms.
  3. If necessary, check the Alarm app to be sure.

Remove Apple Watch alarms

All alarms have now been removed, except for the sleep function. You can add new alarm clocks if necessary. For example, if you have set the sleep alarm for 8:00 AM, you can set an extra alarm for 8:05 AM to be on the safe side. This provides more certainty that one of the two alarm clocks will go off.

Another ‘solution’ for your Apple Watch alarm clock issue is to use a different alarm clock app. We recommend Sleep Cycle for the Apple Watch. This app works independently of Apple’s own alarm clock and also measures your sleep activity. Also check out the best alarm clock apps for iPhone in our separate guide.
