Today we are going to see how to create a WhatsApp group where only the administrator can speak. It can be used in very large groups, where the only purpose is to inform the rest of its members, preventing them from filling your mailbox with annoying messages.
Most of the time, this mode is used so that administrators can provide only the necessary information and not lose the thread of the conversation, with messages that have nothing to do with the main topic. We will explain the step by step from the beginning. Since, the first thing you should do is create a WhatsApp group.
How to create a WhatsApp group in a few steps
To do this, what you are going to do, within the application, is go to the contact list, or select the message icon at the bottom right. The latter will also direct you to the contacts. The first option you have, before the list of your contacts, is “New Group”.
In the new window that opened you will have all your contacts again. There, what you have to do is select one by one, all the contacts on your list that you want to participate in the group.
The members that are going to be part of the new group that you are creating will appear at the top of the screen. Once you have selected all the people you want to be part of, what you have to do is press the green button with an arrow to the right that you have below the screen on the right.
Then, you will have a new window in which you can see all the contacts that you have previously chosen. At the top right you must add a name or a subject to the group.
You also have the option of adding an icon or image alluding to the subject or name of the group. The latter is optional, and it is recommended to be able to locate it more easily and quickly within the rest of the conversations.
Once you’ve finished creating it, select the green button with a check mark in the top right to accept and create the group.
How to make only the group administrator speak quickly and easily
If what you want is to apply this mode to an existing group, you can skip the first part. Once you have the group created, you can incorporate the function so that only the administrators of the WhatsApp group can speak.
It’s very simple, you just have to search for the group in your conversations and enter the chat. Once inside, you are going to press on the name of the group.
A new screen will open, where you can see the image or icon of the largest group, this is the group’s profile. As you can see, it has some configuration options in a further list below the image.
Within these options, we are going to select “Group configuration”. Then, in a new list of options, you must click the option “Send messages” to be able to edit the configuration.
You will have a new pop-up window with a legend “Choose who can send messages to this group” and then two options: “All participants” and “Only administrators”.
As in this case, what we want to do is that only administrators can send messages, what you should do is select this option and then press “OK” to save the changes.
From now on, only participants who are administrators of the group will be able to send messages. You can select one or more other people to be group moderators.
Within the “Group Settings” selection, you have the option “Designate admins. of the group”. There, you could select all the people within the list of group participants, so that they are also administrators.
As you can see, in a very short time and in a few simple steps, you can create a WhatsApp group where only the administrator(s) can speak.
