Let’s start from the assumption that as a general rule we Spaniards invest around 30% of our income to pay for housing. This means that if we live renting, any help will be little. Hence precisely the reason for the so-called Young Rental Bonus, which will also be possible to request in this year 2024 into which we have just entered.
Specifically, it is a bonus of 250 euros of aid that you can request and receive if you meet a series of requirements. Obviously this is money that will be used to pay the rent, which many will surely appreciate. The problem here is that there is no unified method at the national level, since everything depends on each autonomous community. But first, let’s look at the requirements that must be met to be able to access this rental aid that we mentioned in 2024.
Requirements to request the 2024 Rental Bonus
The first thing we must take into consideration is that it is an aid, as we have told you, of 250 euros per month. This is extended over 2 years once it has been granted, which represents a total of 6,000 euros. As its name indicates, this is a subsidy aimed at younger people who have to pay rent. This means that in order to access all of this it is mandatory that we are between 18 and 35 years old.
It is also interesting to know that we can access this bonus whether we have rented a house or individual rooms. This is an aid that has been with us since last year 2022, which has been extended over time and is managed by each autonomous community. It is important to take into consideration that it is essential to have Spanish nationality and be registered in the home for which we are going to request aid.
It must also be your habitual residence, at least during the period of time in which you are receiving the 250 euros. It is mandatory that you are the owner of the lease contract and have all payments up to date. Another fundamental aspect to be able to access the 2024 Rental Bonus is that we have an income of less than 24,318.84 euros per year.
Say that the rent as such cannot exceed 300 euros per month for a room, reaching 450 in some communities, or 600 euros for the entire house. If we live with other people who have requested help, their sum may not exceed the amount of the rent.
How to ask for 250 euros per month for rent
We have already mentioned before that initially there is no general website enabled to request these 250 euros for rent that we mentioned. Therefore, the most appropriate thing is to access the website enabled for this in each autonomous community of our country. Thus, the Ministry of Housing has enabled this website now that you can access from here in order to make things easier for us in this sense.
The most interesting thing here is that you will find each of the links corresponding to the Spanish autonomous communities to make the request as such. This means that if we meet the aforementioned requirements, we will be able to fill in the information they ask us to access these 250 euros per month for 2 years to invest in our rental home.
Of course, we must take into consideration that although the aid has already been approved, it has not yet been implemented in the majority of the autonomous communities. Obviously, once the website goes live, we will have to identify ourselves digitally. In most cases, it will be enough for us to have an electronic DNI or a digital certificate to begin the application.
