LaLiga’s fight against pirate IPTV apps is nothing new. Especially since LaLiga Content Protection (a technological subsidiary of LaLiga) was created, the persecution of Javier Tebas and his Technological Content Protection department against those who pirate the signal of the main national football competition.

Observing the public document in which LaLiga has sent to the European Commission to express how its audiovisual rights are violated, several pirate IPTV applications are cited.

Mainly, the focus is on Newplay IPTV due to its success in Spain, where it has been downloaded more than 900,000 times from our country through Google Play during the past 2021.
