We are in the month of November and we are already beginning to see the approach to the Christmas period. It seems that this time the streaming applications have moved faster than ever with the announcement of new movies and series on the occasion of this holiday. The first of them to try their luck has been Netflix, which is already an expert in launching enormous weekly programming to satisfy its users. The new release is now available and aims high.

It is proven that Christmas is synonymous with meeting friends, family trips or, why not, meeting your better half. Many times we associate this stage with spending a peaceful vacation at home watching movies and series non-stop. Although we have not yet entered the polar cold stage and the most representative moments of the nativity season, streaming companies have already gotten to work to offer us a good dose of Christmas content.

Netflix is the first to kick things off with the recent appearance of See You Next Christmas, which aspires to become one of the typical love stories that cause a trend during the first weeks. If you consider yourself a fan of the genre and want to start getting into the Easter mood, you can’t miss it.

A successful Christmas romance

There are certain productions on Netflix that pass without pain or glory through a huge catalog in which they often get lost along the way and end up spreading without the possibility of locating them with the naked eye. On the contrary, others are lucky enough to be among those who manage to plant the label of preference and take a more successful course thanks to the large audience share they have obtained.

This is the example of See You Next Christmas, which at the time of writing this article is positioned in second place in the top 10 films with the highest number of views. And it has only been broadcast on video on demand for a single day, as it landed on November 6 on the big N streaming service.

In this way, in Spain it has dethroned other feature films that had been dominating the lists for several weeks. This is the case of Don’t move, with 42,900,000 million hours viewed, which drops from first place to sixth position, or Cut in time, which stumbles one step up to third place, with 35,100,000 million hours consumed.

What is the movie about?

You may be familiar with the name of the actress and singer Christina Milian, the protagonist of this romantic comedy set in the snowy streets of New York. She was the winner of a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B Album in 2004 and recognized for her participation in legendary films such as American Pie or Ghosts of My Ex-Girlfriends, among others. This film also stars Devale Ellis, whose filmography is much less known.

The story is about a fairy tale romance that Layla dreams of, in order to find the man of her dreams. New York City is the starting point for the hottest ticket in town: Pentatonix’s Christmas Eve concert. But, unfortunately, all the tickets are sold out. There she hopes to reunite with James (Kofi Siriboe), her unconditional love, although not everything is as it seems.

However, it is not the only film that will be released in November with a Christmas theme. Our Little Secret, with Lindsay Lohan in the lead role, is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on the 27th of this month.
