We are becoming more and more accustomed to streaming music platforms in our daily lives, such as Spotify, one of the most used platforms. This way, we are not forced to buy music or download it locally to our device.
With all this we will have access to a huge amount of musical themes belonging to all kinds of genres and eras. In addition, one of the main advantages that these streaming platforms offer us is that we save a large amount of disk space, since the playback of these songs in most cases occurs online.
All we have to do is install the corresponding client in the form of a program on our computer. In fact, sometimes, as is the case with Spotify, we can access our account from the web version of the platform. It should be noted that this streaming service in particular offers us a free version, although with some important functional limitations, and it is also full of ads.
Of course, to enjoy all of Spotify’s features without ads, the only problem we find here is that we will have to pay. In these lines we are going to focus on an interesting function that, perhaps you do not know, we are referring to the so-called Private Session. It should be noted that this type of online service often also has social tools. In other words, we are talking about functions that allow us to interact with other users of the same platform in one way or another.
This is where the functionality we mentioned comes into play and which you can take advantage of in certain circumstances. To eliminate these social functions from the Spotify client when using the online service, we can activate the so-called Private Session.
When to activate a Spotify Private Session
You should know that on certain occasions, when we are ready to listen to music on this streaming platform, we may want to hide our activity from the contacts we have added here. It is certainly not the best solution to delete them in order to add them again later. That is precisely why the functionality we are now discussing is so useful.
In this way, we only have to access the client configuration window and locate the section called, precisely, Social. Then we only have to activate this function that we mentioned through the selector located on its right. From then on, all the activities that we carry out in the Spotify client will not be shared with our friends and contacts.
In order to return to the normal state of use of the platform, we only have to deactivate the aforementioned tool again. Of course, we must keep in mind that we can also deactivate this function that we mentioned, the private session, without doing anything. And the client itself informs us that when restarting the Spotify application, this is a feature that is automatically deactivated.
Likewise, after 6 hours from its start-up, it also deactivates itself.
