Over the years and Windows versions, Microsoft has set itself the goal of enabling its Windows to interact with Android. This is the most widely used mobile operating system owned by Google and the one most of you use on a daily basis.

The software giant wants us to be able to work with our computer based on its system, and have a certain control over our mobile from there. To do this, we currently have some interesting applications and functions integrated into Windows, which also continue to grow. This is precisely the case that concerns us in these very lines.

We’re telling you all this because the latest version of the tech giant’s software, Windows 11, has just added an interesting feature related to all of this. The latest preview version of the Beta Channel that was released earlier this week includes some interesting changes, especially for Android users. Initially, the company added the ability to work with the Android mobile file system in Windows File Explorer.

But the new features in this regard do not end there. Microsoft has introduced a new entry available in the context menu of the desktop operating system. The main objective of this new option that we can opt for is to facilitate the sending of files to our mobile device.

So, to send a file from your computer to your phone, you just need to right-click on the file itself. Then, you just need to select Send to my phone. You should keep in mind that in this case, you won’t see the option unless Mobile Link is configured and working.

For the time being, Apple iPhone users will not be able to benefit from these features. Almost all of the Mobile Link features remain exclusive to Android users. One of the main reasons for this is the closed nature of Apple’s operating systems.

Focusing on Google’s system, Microsoft says it has now added the ability to share content with an Android device from the context menu. This is a feature that extends to both File Explorer and the Windows Desktop. To use this feature and get the most out of it, the Mobile Link app must be installed and configured.

At this time we must keep in mind that the new option is being gradually deployed among Insider users in the Windows 11 Beta channel. But we also have the possibility of activating the function through the ViVeTool application that we download from this link.

Next, we open a command prompt window with administrator permissions and go to the ViveTool folder. Now we just have to run the following command:

vivetool /enable /id:45286369,52800817

There is no doubt that Microsoft is doing its part to ensure that we can work together with our Windows-based PC and Android mobile.
