A new update to Max’s catalogue has given a boost in interest to one of its most famous series due to the quality improvement made to its episodes. Thanks to this, the streaming platform offers it in 4K UHD and with other image improvements that will make your Smart TV able to give you the best performance and thus allow you to enjoy it to the fullest.

A few days ago we told you about the celebration that was taking place for the 30th anniversary of Friends. At that time we already felt a little old, but Max wants us to continue with this moment of nostalgia that is being enjoyed so much. To do so, the service updates the entire Friends series with image improvements and, in addition, announces a new contest called Fast Friends in which fans of the series will be able to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. You can enjoy all of this with Max subscription.

New products now available at Max

We must say that Max has pleasantly surprised us with the new features it has incorporated and with which it pays tribute in the best possible way to the classic comedy. First of all, there is the image quality, bringing 4K UHD resolution with HDR10 and Dolby Vision to users who have a good Smart TV compatible with all of this. This is fabulous news, since this way you will be able to enjoy it in the same conditions as if you get the new 4K Blu-ray edition of the series.

And with the intention of further bridging the gap with those who intend to buy the physical edition, Max has also included extras. This, which is not exactly common in streaming, would undoubtedly be something we would applaud if we saw it more frequently. For the moment, three extras have been included: Friends from the beginning, When Friends become a family and The legacy of Friends. In each of these extras you will be able to discover details about the characters and the production of the series that you may not yet know.

The extras are presented on Max’s Friends collection page, which has been redesigned for the occasion. The poster and other details of the interface have a special style, and, not least, collections have been added as well. These collections are like the old DVDs that were sold as collections of specific episodes, and are a great way to watch episodes that focus on a particular character, for example. There are currently eight different collections. One of them is simply the most-watched episodes, the ones that the public agree are therefore the best. Then there is a collection dedicated to each character, although Ross and Rachel share them. Two other collections have been added: one that collects episodes with famous guests and another that is dedicated to Thanksgiving.

This is what Fast Friends will be like

From what we’ve read, this contest will have four episodes and will put the participants in situations that will take them directly to the universe they love so much. To do so, Warner Bros. has not wanted to skimp on resources and will carry out the filming at The Friends Experience: The One in New York, which is an interactive experience that everyone can visit and that recreates the scenes from the series. Fans should know that this experience is already present in several countries and that it continues to expand, being a perfect way to feel like you’re inside the series.

Don’t think of Fast Friends as just a quiz show, as the show will have contestants having to complete all sorts of challenges. There’s talk of running through Chandler and Joey’s apartment, racing through Monica and Rachel’s apartment, and solving riddles over coffee in Central Perk. Considering the 5,000-square-metre filming location and 18 rooms that recreate key locations in the world of Friends, it’s sure to be a buzz-worthy contest that fans will love.
