As every year, ADSLZone presents the Awards that are aimed at the large companies in the sector, from the best operators, communication directors to the best network strategy, innovation and brands, among many other awards. Today, finally, we can know who the winners are during the 2024 edition.
At the 15th Edition of the ADSLZone Awards, which took place at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz Hotel in Madrid, more than 150 guests gathered, including the main CEOs of operators, brands and technology companies in Spain. One year after the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of ADSLZone, a gala that is already a tradition is repeated in which the work and effort of companies in the world of telecommunications and technology is recognized.
Best CEO
One of the first special awards of the night falls into the hands of José María Álvarez-Pallete, President of Telefónica, who wins the award for Best Director or CEO of 2024. Furthermore, it has been a marked year for the Spanish company, since Telefónica’s Centennial has been celebrated: «100 years connecting people’s lives«. Álvarez Pallete began in February 1999 as General Director of Finance of Telefónica Internacional and, after several years, became president of Telefónica Latin America in 2009. Already in April 2016 he became Executive President of Telefónica SA. He received the Emilio Gayo Executive President of Telefónica Spain award.
Best DIRCOM
Another of the most special awards of the year goes to Samsung, specifically, Laura Bárcena when she became the Best DIRCOM of 2024. The board joined the Korean company in mid-2012, although it was in May 2023 when she obtained the position of new Director of Communication and PR Manager of the company in Spain.
Special Cybersecurity Award
The special Cybersecurity Award at the ADSLZone Awards gala during 2024 goes to the UCO (Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard), for its important work in investigating and prosecuting serious acts of delinquency and organized crime, also highlighting their work against cybercrime. Without a doubt, a key piece as it is the central body of the Judicial Police service of the Civil Guard of Spain.
Journalist of the Year Award
This edition of the ADSLZone awards wanted to recognize the impeccable career of Santiago Milan Alonso, journalist for Cinco Días and El País. A professional who has witnessed and has been able to portray through letters several decades of transformation of a sector as complex and variable as the economy.
Other winners at the 2024 Gala
Not only are there those awarded in the categories of Best DIRCOM, Best CEO, beyond these recognitions, there is also another series of winners during this ADSLZone 2024 Awards gala.
For example, one of the most innovative is the award for Best Innovation of the year, which goes to Samsung thanks to its smart device: Samsung Galaxy Ring. This ring allows you to measure sleep, heart rate, among many other functions. And not only this, but Samsung also obtains recognition as the Best Official Manufacturer Store. Among other brands, Xiaomi wins the award for Best Smartphone of 2024 within the Best Camera category, while Motorola wins this same price, but in the Premium Range category with the Razr 50 Ultra.
The award for Low Cost Operator of 2024 goes to Finetwork, and this year the Alicante operator has made a true revolution in its fiber, mobile and TV offering by betting on really low prices. On the other hand, Pepephone once again wins the award for Operator most valued by its customers.
There are also other brands that have stood out in other categories, such as Digi for having the fastest fiber; Movistar, for offering the best 5G network in Spain; o Vodafone, being the Best mobile operator. And they are not the only telecos present during the 15th Edition of the ADSLZone Awards. MasMovil is nominated as the Best Converged, Telco and Energy Operator of 2024; Orange takes the award for Best Device Strategy; Jazztel manages to have the best low-cost fiber offer and the award for Best OTT Television goes to Movistar Plus+.
In addition, during these awards there are many products and brands that have received special recognition, from awards for the best television to the best wearable on the market, which other companies such as NordVPN, awarded for Best VPN or V-Valley, which takes the Best B2B Distributor of the year 2024.
