How nice are SkyShowtime’s silent updates! Or, in other words, when the service includes tons of movies and new releases in its catalog that have not been previously announced. Subscribers to the platform can now get ahead of Christmas with Christmas movies and, in addition, we have three more South Park specials.

The 50% SkyShowtime forever offer is still available for that you subscribe on their website. And, to get more people interested in it, the platform continues to add content. In this sense, we are going to highlight two of its new features that, as is often the case in many cases, have not been announced. The first of them is the beginning of the Christmas season with the addition of many Christmas movies. And the second is the arrival of three additional South Park movie-specials.

Christmas has begun on SkyShowtime

They say that when Mariah Carey ushered in Christmas a few days ago, the world already began to celebrate. And we should not go wrong considering that streaming services are already adding films on this topic. We are in November, but the spirit of Christmas is beginning to be enjoyed and, in some countries, Christmas trees are already decorating shops and living rooms. Therefore, it doesn’t hurt that we already have movies available.

If we take a look at the SkyShowtime catalog we will find that the service has introduced a good wave of Christmas movies with very diverse themes. Although the most standardized productions tend to be romantic comedies, the truth is that the platform has chosen to add a varied repertoire of different themes. Thus, we find both versions of The Grinch, both the animated edition and the classic live-action adventure starring Jim Carrey. We also have Last Christmas, a film in which we see Emilia Clarke, Emma Thompson and Michelle Yeoh, among other actresses. Another premiere in the same vein is The Holiday, a well-known film starring a luxury cast made up of actors such as Jude Law, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Jack Black.

In addition, Felix the Cat’s Christmas, Bloody Christmas, Bad Santa 2 and Christmas and Other Holidays to Avoid, one of the last films of the great Robin Williams, have also been added. On the other hand, in recent days many other well-known films have been added, such as The Godfather or the saga The Fathers of…, but we wanted to focus on talking about the arrival of Christmas. As usual, exploring the service catalog you are sure to find many new features.

More doses of South Park

Weeks ago we mentioned that SkyShowtime had added several of the South Park movies in Spain, which surprised fans because of how unexpected it was. At that time we commented that it would be fantastic if the service got its act together and continued releasing the specials that were still pending to be seen in Spain. And it seems our prayers have been answered, as three more titles are now available.

In the first of these films, the one titled South Park: Joining the Panderverse, Cartman travels to a parallel universe where the protagonists of South Park are very different from the characters we know. In this way, South Park deals with the controversy of the supposed inclusion with which some film studios have been criticized. Of course, it does so with a delirious result and with one of those loads of criticism that are common in the universe of this series.

The next new feature is South Park (Not Suitable for Children), which directly attacks influencers, the subscription-based adult content pages that are already so fashionable with the products that these Internet celebrities sell. In particular, the film focuses on Logan Paul, and gives prominence to both Butters and Stan’s parents, who will immerse themselves fully in the phenomenon of those pages that we have mentioned.

To finish we have the premiere of South Park: The End of Obesity, which, like the others, is another special film originally produced for streaming. In this case, the good news is that SkyShowtime is already entering the 2024 premieres and updates us on the content available on Paramount+. With Cartman involved and weight loss as the main theme, the film also criticizes the American health system and semaglutide weight loss medications. As usual, there is no head puppet left.
