As Gemini is integrated into a greater number of applications, its possibilities multiply exponentially, completely redefining the experience it offers its users. This has been the case with Waze, which will now offer us new functions.
Gemini is reaching more and more applications, adding exciting new features that allow us to completely change the way we interact with many of our favorite apps. Within the category of navigation applications, one of those that accumulates the largest number of users is Waze, which allows us to always be aware of all the incidents that exist on the road and that may cause delays or incidents on our journey.
Although the way to interact with it is very simple and in a few touches we can report any incident on the road, when we are driving we cannot always do the same. Google is aware of this and would now be integrating a new button which will allow us to report said incident and the system itself will be in charge of categorizing and updating it.
A much more autonomous Waze
One of the reasons why Waze has accumulated so many followers around the world is the social aspect that it has managed to develop in recent years. The application offers us a large number of categories to inform the rest of the users of what they are going to find during their route: radars, traffic, police controls… However, the handicap it has is that we do not always have the time necessary to can report this incident and categorize it correctly.
From Google they want to simplify this process as much as possible thanks to the possibilities that Gemini offers. To do this, once this new function is integrated for all users, the only thing we will have to do is provide Gemini with the information about the situation that we have seen on the road and it will be the AI itself which will be in charge of establishing the category and updating the system with said information. Furthermore, it will not be necessary that we have to use a series of keywords for it to have a good interpretation, but rather the language can be colloquial and the information will also be categorized correctly.
A single touch
As we have already anticipated, Google’s intention is to considerably simplify this entire process. To talk to Gemini, all we will have to do is press the dedicated button that we will see in the Waze interface and, immediately afterwards, describe what we are seeing. A few seconds later, everything will be updated in the application and the rest of the drivers will be able to take advantage of the information we have provided.
At the time of writing, this new Waze update has been rolled out only to a select group of users, so it is a feature that is reserved for all those who are part of the beta program. Once its operation is checked and they ensure that everything works correctly, it will be deployed so that other users can benefit from all its advantages.
