Just a few days ago, Google launched the stable version of Android Auto 11.8 without having previously published the beta. A movement quite similar to what happened with Android Auto 11.7. Today, the American company has released version 11.9 although, this time, with the beta version in advance. We tell you the details.
When Google launches new versions of Android Autothe roadmap involves publishing, at first, a beta version. And, once its performance is analyzed and the detected errors are corrected, it gives way to the stable version, which is the one that ends up reaching all users via the Play Store. However, in Android Auto 11.7 and 11.8, we had seen different behavior, which anticipated a possible policy change in this regard.
Nevertheless, Android Auto 11.9 It was announced just a few hours ago and has dispelled all doubts, following the usual path: first, the beta version and, eventually, the final version will be published. Design changes
Just a few days ago, from ADSL Zone we already told you about the changes that had arrived in the design of the latest version of Android Auto. In this case, all the changes were concentrated in the settings menu, which adopted the settings from Material You, Google’s latest design standard. With Android Auto 11.9, these changes are maintained and we can enjoy them when we access this menu to change any configuration parameter.
It has not been observed that this new update at the design level has had an implication in any other interface area. So everything seems to indicate that Google has made an effort to continue improving the usability of the tool and the stability it presents to its users.
No solution to common errors
Google periodically updates the list of problems that are detected in the operation of Android Auto and that wait to be corrected with each new version. This list can be consulted from this link. However, it has not been proven that any of the errors that appear in this list have been corrected, so everything seems to indicate that they are still analyzing each one of them until they detect the origin of the error to proceed with its correction.
In order to download this new version, we must belong to the Android Auto beta program. Otherwise, we would have to wait until Android Auto notifies us of the new available version, which we don’t expect to take too long. If we don’t want to wait, the alternative is to download the APK from some reliable source, as is the case of APK Mirror. Although, in this case, it will be necessary that we have previously enabled the option to install apps from unknown sources within the settings menu of our mobile phone.
