Google has been working for quite some time to crack down on extensions or programs designed to block ads on YouTube. With this, instead of offering an advertisement, the platform pauses for a few seconds with the screen going black. The waiting time ranges between 12 and 30 seconds, according to the users themselves. Once this time has passed, the content of the video in question then begins to play.
However, it has not been given to all users who use any blocker, but to those who use uBlock Origin. On the other hand, it is thought that these types of black screens are ads that have been blocked by this extension. However, the real purpose sought with this add-on is not achieved: to skip the ad. Since users have to wait for the black ad to play before watching any video. What is clear is that with this new method, this video service wants users to end up betting on the Premium version, since it is the only legal way to not see ads.
