The Ministry of Health has recently started the process of automatic updating of the EU Digital COVID Certificates (CCD-UE) that were issued at the time by the Ministry itself and which will expire before June 30, 2023.
The Ministry of Health is sending ex officio, through the email provided by users, the notice of availability of the administrative electronic notification from which the updated CCD-UE can be downloaded and fully valid until the date indicated by the European regulations in vigor.
Likewise, from the General Secretariat of Digital Health, Information and Innovation in the SNS of the Ministry of Health, a text message via SMS has been sent for a few days to the mobile phone of the people whose CCD-UE was issued by the Ministry and requested by the user in Wallet format, already updated.
In any case, anyone who wishes can reapply for their CCD-UE through the website of the Ministry of Health, authenticating with a digital certificate.
In accordance with Regulation (EU) 2021/953 of the European Parliament and of the Council of June 14, 2021 on a framework for the issuance, verification and acceptance of interoperable COVID-19 vaccination, diagnostic test and recovery certificates (COVID CERTIFICATE digital de la UE, CCD-UE) and, in order to facilitate the free movement of people during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health, complementing the work of the Autonomous Communities, issues and delivers these certificates, only in electronic format and only for vaccination and recovery modalities. This Regulation extends the validity of certificates until June 30, 2023.
