It is not the first time, nor will it be the last, that the Spanish operator’s television adds test channels before launching new channels in its TV catalog. As on other occasions, the operator uses this type of dials as a test with the aim of checking that everything is in order for the next broadcasts. Therefore, right now you can find up to two TEST channels: TEST 1 and TEST 1 HD.

For several months, these same channels were under the name of tests, but as of today they have become TEST. Of course, it must be taken into account that these types of dials in the testing phase are not available to customers from the operator’s normal deco, but rather an external tool must be used to view these channels.

Movistar’s TEST channels

As is normal, before the arrival of possible new channels, the Movistar Plus+ platform does not rest so that everything is ready before the corresponding premiere. Furthermore, it is nothing new that the operator’s television is renewing different channels as the months go by.

And we are not only referring to the Multi-cinema channels, which are those dials that change monthly, or the temporary pop-up channels such as ‘Vacaciones por M+’, among others, but the blue operator is testing new dials to upcoming releases.

Movistar Plus+ TV

It is now common for the telephone company to want to ensure the correct functioning of its channels. Therefore, before starting to broadcast normally on its TV platform and to avoid retransmission errors, the company carries out different tests through these dials:

  • #EXTINF:-1, […] Test 1
    rtp://@239.0.3.4:8208
  • #EXTINF:-1, […] Test1 HD
    rtp://@239.0.5.137:8208

For example, the last time we saw these two dials, TEST 1 and TEST 1 HD, was in December last year, before the launch of the SkyShowtime channel. In any case, this latest move by the operator gives food for thought. And even more so when the operator’s TV has decided to replace the name Tests with TEST. However, a promotional loop with the Movistar Plus+ cover is currently being broadcast on these two dials.

However, it must be taken into account that these dials in the testing phase are not available from the deco. To access these, other elements are needed if a user wants to take a look at the emissions under test. But what is needed? We explain it to you.

So you can see the channels in test

One of the first points that you should keep in mind is that you have to have a fiber or ADSL rate from the operator; satellite is not compatible with this alternative. And all because if not, you cannot have the opportunity to access the virtual decoration.

PTViewr app

You have to use the IPTViewr virtual deco. We are looking at a specific tool that is based on VLC for PC. In addition, it is a program that is compatible with any computer that has Windows 7 or a later version of Microsoft software.

Thanks to this application, a user with Movistar fiber or ADSL can access the operator’s server to download the updated channel list and thus use it as an .m3u extension. In this way, you have the option to see what the test dials are, including these two new options, TEST 1 and TEST 1 HD. It must be taken into account that within this test catalog you can find more than 30 different dials in different versions, SD, HD and even 4K.
