Movistar Plus+ says goodbye forever to its 10 temporary channels with the best cinema

Goodbye to the pop-up thematic channels with new films every month. Movistar Plus+ says goodbye to the Multi Cine dials, which were previously known under the name Clic Cine. These temporary channels were only available from the UHD decoder. Now, however, it seems that the operator’s television is betting on removing them from its current offer.

Every month, the Movistar operator renewed a large part of the Multi Cine channels, surprising its subscribers with new themes, whether it was about famous people, eras, key moments, etc. Every month, they had the opportunity to see new content through these channels. Something that is now going to change forever on Movistar Plus+.

Goodbye to Multi Cine channels

Less than a year ago, Movistar Plus+ changed the name of its interactive service Clic Cine to Multi Cine. However, it is now that the real change is coming to customers who until now enjoyed new content every month through dials 200 to 209 from the operator’s UHD decoder.

Until now, the blue operator’s television platform had maintained this interactive service between these channels without any problems. But, it seems that something has changed at Movistar Plus+ for them to decide to eliminate them from the channel lineup. And even more so when it came to channels that were updated over the months with different themes. For example, the last channels to be available were the following:

  • Dial 200 Multi Pride.
  • Dial 201 Multi Monstrous Creatures.
  • Dial 202 Multi From paper to screen.
  • Dial 203 Multi Queens of humor.
  • Dial 204 Multi Nazism on screen.
  • Dial 205 Multi Bond, all Bond.
  • Dial 206 Multi Superheroes.
  • Dial 207 Multi Clint Eastwood.
  • Dial 208 Multi Spanish Directors.
  • Dial 209 Multi Nordic Cinema.

The Multi Cine channels, formerly Clic Cine, landed on the blue operator’s television platform on September 1, 2021. Since then, the operator has been renewing different channels every month, and in some months it has even surprised everyone by renewing all 10 channels. Less than three years later, Movistar TV customers are saying goodbye to these ten channels forever. Although, one of them remains on the current lineup: channel 16.

Multi Cine’s Dial 16 remains

Since the end of June, customers who had the Movistar film package and UHD decoder could see that on these channels it was announced that the Multi Cine service would be available from channel 16. In other words, this channel will remain but with a generic schedule. The problem is that they have gotten rid of the other ten pop-up thematic channels, leaving only this alternative with different films offered on the operator’s TV platform.

A strategy that comes just after the launch of the new sports channels in the pure Multi Cine style: the Flash channels. This is another interactive service, but in this case, focused on different sports such as football, basketball, golf, etc. So everything points to the fact that the operator is looking to simplify its current offer and, above all, it seems to want to focus on offering even more sport to its television customers.
