A good practice that everyone should do is to read a little every day, a few pages of a book. This habit is uncommon, but it can provide a lot of knowledge and also topics of conversation. Well, now you can have a topic of conversation about literature without trying to read thanks to SoBrief, an artificial intelligence that summarizes books.

Many people make the excuse that they do not have time in their daily lives to read, which is quite poor. There is always some time to read a little, such as before going to sleep or while we are in the bathroom.

You may think that reading is not as entertaining as watching videos on YouTube or TikTok, gossiping on social networks or watching TV. If you find the right book, you will surely feel the need to continue reading if the story catches you. You just need to know what kind of works you like and find authors that appeal to you.

Save yourself the pleasure of reading books with this artificial intelligence

The use of artificial intelligence is increasing, developing new options for using this technology. ChatGPT has been the one who has started the path for all kinds of solutions to be developed. Some, based on this technology or on different models that have been developed.

SoBrief is a new solution that offers us the summary of different books. This is an interesting option if we want to expand our conversation capacity. It can also be used for students, saving them from reading unbearable books, such as The Alchemist, by Pablo Cohelo.

Don’t get your hopes up either, since at the moment the catalog on the website only includes just over 73,000 titles. Most of the books in this catalog are in English and we have not found books in Spanish. Perhaps the interesting thing is that the summary of the book is in text and also in audio (also in English).

artificial intelligence summary books

I have done several tests to see if there are interesting general literature books and it has been quite disappointing. For example, the three books that make up the saga “The Three Body Problem” by Liu Cixin do not have a summary. I have also searched for classics in Spanish such as “Don Quixote” or “One Hundred Years of Solitude.” As they are books that I have read, I wanted to see if the summary was good and I could summarize the book well, but it was not possible.

From what we can see, most of the books are autobiographies, books on learning and spirituality, training or similar. Apparently, it does not have, at the moment, the ability to summarize books of literature, which can be more complex to synthesize.

The truth is that I still find reading a book more interesting. Most of those that appear, possibly, are not of interest to the majority. I suppose that little by little they will add new titles and expand to other more general books. I must say that I wouldn’t change reading a few pages of my bedside books every night for anything. I have my Kindle well stocked with books and I like the experience of reading and exploring history more than these simplistic summaries.
