This equipment has a really small size, so it is perfect to place it directly on a table. Of course, it is also perfect for freelancers or freelancers who are dedicated to the world of photography and video editing. Finally, home users could also use it for multimedia, although the limitations regarding mass storage must be taken into account, since this model is all-flash, without hard drives.

Main features

The main characteristics of this new NAS server is that it can be purchased with two different processor configurations. In addition, the RAM memory cannot be expanded and is associated with the chosen processor. The available CPUs are:

  • Intel Core i3-1320PE: a powerful 8-core processor (4 powerful cores and another 4 low-power cores) and 12 processing threads with a speed of 1.7GHz but is capable of reaching up to 4.5GHz in the powerful cores. This CPU has 64-bit x86 architecture, with an Intel UHD Graphics processor, floating point unit, hardware encryption engine, and also hardware video transcoding. This processor is linked to a 12GB capacity RAM, it is not expandable since it goes directly on the motherboard.
  • Intel Core i5-1340PE: a powerful 12-core processor (4 powerful cores and another 8 low-power cores) and 16 processing threads with a speed of 1.8GHz but is capable of reaching up to 4.5GHz in the powerful cores. This CPU has 64-bit x86 architecture and with an Intel Iris Xe graphics processor, it also incorporates floating point unit, hardware encryption engine and hardware video transcoding like the previous Intel i3. Regarding the storage of SSD units in this NAS, we have a total of 5 PCIe Gen3 x2 ports where we can connect up to 5 E1.S SSD units, although here we could also connect regular M.2 2280 NVMe units without problems, since it has the pre-installed adapters in case you do not have this type of E1.S SSD units. Of course, this equipment allows you to remove SSD units hot, and also has SSD cache acceleration, although taking into account that everything will be SSD it is not necessary to have this functionality.

As for the connectivity of this NAS server, it is really complete and with really fast technologies, the connectivity of the TBS-h574TX consists of:

  • A 10GBASE-T Multigigabit port, this will allow us to connect it to the local network and have a really high speed, perfect for squeezing the SSD units inside. Supports Jumbo Frames to optimize data transfer as much as possible.
  • A 2.5G Multigigabit port, supports Jumbo Frames on this port.
  • One Thunderbolt 4 port on the front, and another Thunderbolt 4 port on the back. These ports have a bandwidth of 40Gbps.
  • One 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 port on the front, one 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 port on the back, and another USB 2.0 port on the back.
