Whether we use our mobile phone mainly for work or if we only use it in our free time, when we want to share content from our mobile phone with our PC, we have different options in the form of applications to transfer content such as photographs and videos so that we can make a backup, the most comfortable and simple method being the one offered by Microsoft thanks to the Mobile Link application.
Thanks to the Mobile Link application, accessing the content of our Android mobile (integration with iOS is unfortunate due to Apple), transferring photos and videos to the computer is a breeze, since it is displayed as if it were a browser of files where we only have to select the elements that we want to copy to the PC and drag them.
But, in addition, it also allows you to make calls from your PC, view and respond to text and WhatsApp messages, consult your calendar, and even use your phone’s camera as a webcam. As we can see, the Mobile Link application is one of the most complete that we can find on the market to connect a mobile phone and a PC. But what happens if we want to do the opposite?
Share files from Windows with Android
To transfer content from the PC to the mobile, we can also use different methods: connect the mobile to the PC with a cable, send the content through a storage cloud, use Bluetooth, among others. Although the Mobile Link application is focused on accessing mobile content from the PC, that does not mean that Microsoft has forgotten about users looking to transfer content from the PC to the mobile.
Microsoft has released two new Insider builds of Windows 11 through the beta channel. The one that interests us is build 22635.3785, a version that includes changes to the Start menu and a new function that allows you to send content from your PC to your mobile phone in a simple way, so simple that it will only take a couple of mouse clicks.
This new function, associated with the Mobile Link application, allows you to send any type of file to the mobile phone associated with the device through the Windows Share menu. When selecting a file and clicking on the share button, either through the file explorer menu or from the context menu, the name of the phone that we have associated with the Mobile Link application will be displayed first and where the only thing that we must click on it to start sending the content.
Other news
The changes that have been implemented in the start menu allow the addition of shortcut lists for applications pinned to the start menu. To access these, we just have to click with the right mouse button to display all the shortcuts available in each application.
Its operation is very similar to when on our mobile phone, we press for more than a second on an application icon to access its shortcuts and thus go directly to the function we are looking for without having to open the application and search for the function. .
They have also implemented a function that is responsible for automatically recording screen recordings without the user having to do so once the recording has finished. In this way, Microsoft prevents users from recording recordings if they do not remember to save the generated file once the recording has finished.
