What we value most about a smart plug is that it works very quickly through the manufacturer’s cloud, but that it can also be managed locally in case we do not have an Internet connection. Nowadays, there are many models such as WiZ or Tapo that are compatible with Home Assistant, either with official or third-party integrations, in this way, we can manage all devices centrally without problems, and perform advanced automations.

In our personal case, we use LED strips and WiZ bulbs, as they are great value for money, and allow completely local management without the need for the cloud.
