October has been the month chosen by Microsoft to launch the big 24H2 update. One of its main characteristics is that it cannot be installed on systems that do not meet all the minimum requirements to install Windows 11 24H2. Well, thanks to the Rufus application, which has just been updated to version 4.6, it can be installed without restrictions.

The latest major Windows 11 package brings several important new features that are not for all users. It offers support for Wi-Fi 7, something that currently very few users can take advantage of. Plus, add Copilot+, the AI assistant that only works if you have a processor with NPU cores.

Additionally, the update, as is normal, brings with it different operating problems. The most notable is that the clipboard history does not store information, always being empty, although there is a method to correct this problem. Hence, it is always recommended to wait before installing an update.

Rufus updates with bypass to install Windows 11 24H2

Microsoft on its official website offers an ISO of the Windows 11 24H2 operating system. Anyone can now download this file so that, when installing from scratch, they already have the latest major update package and do not have to do the process later.

A major drawback is that if the PC in question does not meet the hardware requirements, it cannot be installed. But, we can bypass this restriction using the Rufus 4.6 Beta application. This new version of this software integrates the Registry Tweak function.

You should know that the final Rufus 4.6 version has just been released and that, indeed, it integrates the bypass. Additionally, this final version has different improvements and corrections compared to the ‘Beta’ version. Without a doubt, the most interesting thing is a new feature that was not in this preview version.

rufus software 4.6

Specifically, according to the software notes, a new ‘setup.exe’ container is added to bypass Windows 24H2 update limitations. One of the restrictions that exists, for example, is that it cannot be installed on processors that do not support SSE4.2 instructions, which are those that are more than ten years old.

It is noted in the release notes that this app receives improved support for ReactOS bootable media. Not much more information is given, but it seems that the software had some problems regarding startup. To correct them, it seems that changes have been made to the FreeLdr.SYS file, correcting the problem.

ReactOS, for those who don’t know, is an operating system called “Open Source Windows.” On the other hand, FreeLdr (FreeLoader) is the default bootloader system for this operating system.

Additionally, according to the notes, time zone has been added to the regional options replication. Passwords for local accounts are also configured so that they do not expire. Fixed issue when trying to write compressed VHD images or an error when invoking Rufus from the PowerShell command line.

As you may well know, you can download the latest version of Rufus from its official website or the official GitHub repository.
