In this act she has stressed that the use of these devices can improve the muscle function of the pelvic floor, sexual function and can be prescribed to treat disorders such as vulvodynia, which consists of having pain, burning and itching in the external genitalia of the woman.
To reach these conclusions, the researchers took into account previous articles that focused on the use of vibrators to improve the sexual experience, the pelvic floor, urinary incontinence and vulvodynia. The results, published in The Journal of Urology, showed that these electronic devices can be accepted as a modality to improve women’s health.

“More research efforts should be directed toward investigating the usefulness of vibrators for sexual health. Considering that the use of vibrators has a positive effect on all domains of the sexual response cycle (desire, arousal and orgasm), it makes them a valuable enhancement and treatment tool when addressing certain sexual concerns”, explains Dubinskaya.
The expert also calls on urologists, gynecologists and reconstructive surgeons and female pelvic medicine, to inform themselves about the sexual health of women in relation to vibrators, as she believes that they are the ones indicated and the ones who can best educate and recommend these beneficial devices to women.
