New Year greetings with fireworks
You are not allowed to set off fireworks this year. Our tip for taking beautiful fireworks photos is therefore of little use to you. But digital fireworks are allowed, so send your best wishes this year with a popping effect. With iMessage you can use fireworks to give your message some extra effect. In this tip we explain how this works.
- New Year greeting with fireworks
- iMessage with effect
During the turn of the year you will send many friends and family a New Year’s wish, for example with a nice gif in WhatsApp. If you have friends you keep in touch with via iMessage, you can also give a popping effect.
iMessage message with effect
Sending an iMessage message with effect is very easy. It can be done in two ways.
#1 Easy Way: “Happy New Year”
There is a very quick way to send a firework effect message. Just type the text “Happy New Year” and the popping effect will be added automatically in iMessage. Handy if you have little time and want to send a message to many friends. The same goes for ‘Congratulations’. You will then automatically see balloons.
#2 Manual way: choose effect
If you want to send a more personal message, that is of course also possible. You then add the effect afterwards and can then, for example, opt for less popping fireworks, but a calmer effect (see image above):
- Write a new message or open an existing conversation and write a reply.
- Press and hold the submit button until a new screen appears.
- Tap the Screen tab at the top and swipe left or right to find the “fireworks” effect.
- Tap the blue submit button.
If you have a device with Taptic Engine, you will also feel all kinds of vibrations from the fireworks. For example, a digital New Year’s wish with fireworks in iMessage feels a bit more festive!
