The number of videos available on this platform, which most of you know more than enough, does not stop growing minute by minute. And any of us have the possibility of creating our own channel for free and start sharing our videos with the rest of the globe. From there and depending on its quality and originality, we will have the possibility of gaining more or fewer followers.

But apart from these content creators, the majority of users are content with being able to view other people’s videos. Furthermore, the themes included here are practically endless. At the same time, the functions and tools available on YouTube continue to grow to improve your user experience.

For example, many of you may not know that we have the possibility of adding subtitles to any video and also having them displayed in the language we want. For this, the Google portal has a machine learning function that will be extremely useful to us. It is very likely that most of you know that with just pressing a button on the player, the subtitles of the language of the content appear on the screen.

Furthermore, this function that we are telling you about will not only help us better understand what we are seeing. Many of you may configure the feature to learn a certain language that you are studying, since the function is compatible with a multitude of languages.

First of all, the only thing we have to do to benefit from all this that we tell you is to launch any YouTube video in a foreign language. In this way and by simply clicking on the rectangular button at the bottom of the player, we activate the subtitles. The problem here is that by default these texts will be displayed in the native language of the video content itself.

However, this is not what we are really looking for, since in many cases we will remain the same in terms of understanding the content. So that the subtitles are automatically translated into the language of our choice, for example Spanish, let’s see how to do it using the function that we have mentioned.

To do this, click on the gear-shaped button to access the platform configuration. Here we find a section precisely called Subtitles where we click. Next, several customization options for these text elements will appear and we opted for the one that says Translate automatically.

At that moment we will have the possibility to choose the language that interests us most so that the automatic translation of said subtitles can be carried out.
