Little by little, Microsoft is preparing the ground for the feared end of support for Windows 10. Next year, the company’s popular operating system, still used by millions of users, will go down in history. The company will stop distributing updates and providing support to focus only on Windows 11 and its possible successor. And as part of the plan to end Windows 10, this June the company will stop supporting another version, 21H2.

As planned, version 21H2 (November 2021 Update) of Windows 10 reaches its final end of life in June of this year. From that moment on, the operating system will no longer receive all types of support and updates, both security and maintenance, leaving it completely abandoned and at the mercy of a hacker being able to take control of it.

Winver Windows 10 21H2

It is true that the “Home” and “Professional” edition of this version of Windows 10 already stopped receiving support in June 2023. But, now, those who pass away are the “Enterprise”, “Education” and “IoT” editions. Enterprise”, widely used in companies and educational centers. With this new change, Microsoft only leaves users in two possible scenarios:

  • Update to Windows 10 22H2, the latest version of the operating system that will still receive updates until 2025.
  • Make the jump to Windows 11 and be able to continue using the operating system without worries and receiving all kinds of updates.

Anything other than one of the two options above will leave the system exposed and in danger. And, we remember, in 2025 the official support of Windows 10 comes to an end, leaving users with the only possibility of contracting a paid update service (designed, above all, for companies) that will provide critical updates for three more years. . But, once the deadline is over, we can forget about this OS forever.

Update your Windows 10 / 11

Microsoft is trying to put an end to one of the problems that it has been dragging on for years: fragmentation. With the arrival of Windows 10, there were several operating systems in place, from Windows XP to the new one, at that time, 10. This caused many problems and conflicts with programs and updates.

Little by little, all these systems have been coming to an end: Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.1, with only Windows 11 and 10 currently remaining in operation. And, within these systems, only the most recent versions continue to receive support : 22H2 in the case of W.10 (since there will be no new version) and 22H2 and 23H2 in the case of Windows 11.

While Windows 11 22H2 will end support in October of this year, Microsoft is trying to get the majority of users to update to the new version of this operating system. It has even begun to forcefully install updates on some users who, either with Windows 10 and a PC compatible with Windows 11, as with this system, but in a previous version, must be updated to be able to not only enjoy the latest characteristics of the system, but of all the security improvements it provides.
