Consequences of not sealing the strike
As SEPE itself states in its Web page“The renewal of the claim, as well as the registration and maintenance during collection, is an obligation of the beneficiaries of unemployment benefits”. And, furthermore, in the event that we find ourselves faced with this situation, the organization itself affirms that it would begin with a sanctioning process depending on our recidivism. The sanctions are the following:
- In the event that it is the first time we forget this sealing, we would lose a month of benefit. Therefore, we would have to carry out the stamping online and, in the next remittance of payments, once the 30 days of sanction have elapsed, we would normally receive the usual amount again.
- If it happens again, the second time we forget to seal the strike we would face a three-month penalty. So we would have a difficult quarter without collecting the corresponding benefit.
- The sanction amounts to 6 months if we forget the sealing of the strike again for the third time.
- And finally, if we forget a fourth time, we would incur “the loss of all rights”. Therefore, we would not have the possibility of recovering it again after a sanction.
What if we are not collecting the benefit?
We may find ourselves faced with the situation of be registered as job seekers, but we are not receiving any subsidies from the SEPE. In this type of case, we would not have any sanction if we forget to seal the strike when it should. The only consequence we would face is that, for the SEPE, we would not be actively searching for employment. And, therefore, if a job offer arrives that could fit our profile, we would not be taken into account for it. Therefore, we would be removed from the database until we registered again as such.
