Although we almost always hear about great productions, such as FIFA, Fortnite, God of War or Call of Duty, to name a few titles, on the market we can find an infinity of games, more or less large, born in different countries of the world. Spain, for example, has a long and interesting history in the world of video game development, as well as currently having large studios that, although they are not Microsoft, Activision or Epic, have given life to large productions that, if You are passionate about video games, you must play yes or yes.
In Spain, it is estimated that the video game industry directly employs more than 9,000 people, not counting all those who work independently for external studios in the United States or Japan. And it is that, although it is not in the best of its moments, due to the lack of aid and support from the State, great works have been created in our country, especially between the 90s and 2000s, which have become the story like the ones we are going to see next.
Commandos Saga
Undoubtedly, one of the most representative game sagas of our country. These games, developed by the Spanish Pyro Studios, are tactical in real time, and put us in the shoes of a group of military commandos in World War II (a very recurring theme in the world of video games, as we know). with which we must infiltrate Nazi fortresses.
The first title in the saga, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, was released in 1998 and it didn’t take long for it to achieve great success among all players of the time. A year later came its expansion, Commandos: Beyond The Call Of Duty, which had only 8 missions, but a much higher difficulty. It wasn’t until two years later, in 2001, when the second part arrived, Commandos 2: Men Of Courage, with a new 3D engine and more inspiration from war movies of the time. Again, two years later, Commandos 3: Destination Berlin arrived, being the first to use a true 3D environment. The last game in the saga, Commandos: Strike Force, arrived in 2006 and changed the tactical strategy for a shooter – quite bad -, marking the death of the saga.
Some classic games that right now it is not easy to find in physical format, except for second-hand sales where, for about 10 euros, you can find the PC versions of the second and third installment (or for the bravest, the shooter for PS2 which is around 4 euros or some version of the Commandos 2 for Xbox)

FX Football / Football Club Simulator
Undoubtedly, one of the best football management games. It was developed by the Spanish FX Interactive and allows us to take control of a soccer club so that we can manage it completely to try to take our team to the top.
The first editions of this game were FX Soccer, FX Soccer 2.0 and FX Soccer 2015. After them, Football Club Simulator was born, which has been maintained since its first version, in 2017, until the latest version of this simulator released in 2021.
Castlevania Lord of Shadow 1 / 2
The Castlevania saga is well known to most players. These games put us in the shoes of the Belmonts in their quest to defeat evil incarnated in Dracula. The first of the games in the saga dates back to 1986, and the franchise has always belonged to Konami. However, two of the best games in the series have been developed in Spain, both of which have been in 3D.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow came to PC in 2013 from MercurySteam, a developer based in San Sebastián de los Reyes that has also been involved in the development of other great games such as Metroid: Samus Returns and Metroid Dread for 3DS and Switch respectively.
