Summer comes with a lot of heat, and also with vacations for many. Professional athletes, for example, see their competitions take a break during this time, so they too can take a well-deserved vacation. This season is usually very short of competitions to watch, and for this reason Movistar Plus + has decided to eliminate some of its sports channels. We tell you which are the “graceful ones”.
This elimination of channels is nothing new for the platform, which always gets rid of some when the competitions they usually broadcast end. This decision is somewhat logical, since it is useless to have an active channel if it does not have content to broadcast.
These are the channels that disappear
The sports channels that disappear from the Movistar Plus + grid can be divided into four blocks. We are going to see the first of these blocks with the channels that the platform had destined to broadcast LaLiga matches. This block of channels that disappears is the most numerous, and it is that 9 channels do. These channels that disappear are the channels that go from M+ LaLiga 2 to M+ LaLiga 10, located on dials 54, 55 and from 170 to 176.
The second block of channels is also related to football and a competition that has already come to an end, but this time at a continental level. We are talking about the M+ Champions League channels, reserved for this competition that is closely followed by the public. The channels that disappear are those that go from M+ Champions League 2 to M+ Champions League 6, which were found on dials 58 and from 180 to 183.
The other two blocks of channels that are missing are going to see their offer reduced very little, and that is that both lose only one channel. With regard to the M+ Deportes channels, only the one that was on dial 195, which was the M+ Deportes 7 channel, will disappear. The other block was made up of the channels that broadcast their signal in 4K, very little numerous. The channel that is going to disappear at this point is going to be the M+ LaLiga 1 UHD, located before on dial 443.
The grill will be reorganized from August
As we said at the beginning of this article, this removal of channels is quite common, and it is not because Movistar Plus is going to reduce its content. Probably, during the remainder of June and July these channels will continue to disappear (at least for the most part), but in August we will see how these sports channels are located again.
Keep in mind that this changes the way we will see football. As of this 22-23 season, the broadcasting rights for LaLiga belong to Movistar Plus+ and DAZN, each of the two broadcasting 5 games each matchday. Movistar reached an agreement with DAZN to also broadcast its matches, so Movistar Plus+ will be the only site where we can watch all the football. We will probably see channels from both M+ LaLiga and DAZN, but for that we will have to wait a few weeks.
