Social networks have become the main means of communication for many users with the whole world, not just with our closest environment. However, unlike messaging platforms such as WhatsApp or Telegram, within the terms of service, they include a series of restrictions when publishing content.

These restrictions do not only affect the content in text format or links that are published, but also apply to the multimedia content that we publish, whether it is photos or videos. Facebook, the most used social network in the world, like the rest of the applications that are part of the Meta group, Twitter and TikTok, use algorithms that analyze all the content that is published and act based on the conditions of service. , removing inappropriate content.

Although it is true that, due to ignorance of the usage guidelines, we can publish content that is not suitable for all audiences, when one of our publications is deleted, we receive a notice in our account informing us that, if we continue on this path, we will remain without account. If we ignore this warning and continue to post inappropriate content, we’ll be left without an account, with no chance to retrieve or access all of the content we’ve posted since we started using that platform. To prevent this from happening, we must avoid these 10 types of photographs.

  • Nudes. Nude images on all the platforms that are part of the Meta group have always been a discussion debate as they apply to any type of image, even if they are works of art or are historical moments. If we want to avoid problems, it is best to avoid posting content that includes partial or total nudity.

  • sexual acts. Any picture that shows the sex actor being performed, even if it doesn’t show any nudity, has no place on Facebook.

  • Terrorism. There are many terrorist groups that have used social networks to show their propaganda to attract new unsuspecting people. One of the ways to cut these groups off their propaganda channels is to prohibit this content.

  • Firearms. In relation to the above, and despite the fact that some states in the United States carry firearms is common, if we publish this type of content, we will have a serious problem.

  • drugs. All images that show people taking drugs, consuming or displaying them, the algorithm will automatically remove them from the platform without any prior notice.

  • Suicide and self harm. Content that invites users to self-harm or that shows images related to this act will also end up being removed by the algorithm that monitors all content that is published.

  • Bullying and harassment. Bullying among the youngest is, unfortunately, something very common in educational environments among the youngest, a type of content that is not allowed either.

  • violent content. Images showing implicit violence are also not allowed on this social network, including images that show bleeding wounds.

  • Animal abuse. Any type of image showing animals that are being mistreated or exploited in any way has no place on Facebook either.

  • Incitement to hate. Just as violent content is prohibited on Facebook, incitement to hate other people based on their race or religion is also dealt with with a heavy hand in the Meta group.

The algorithm that monitors these guidelines is not perfect and in some cases may not correctly detect content and not censor it or mistake it for something inappropriate. If we encounter such a problem, we can send a request to Facebook for someone to check the posted image and validate it.
