They have an interesting novelty, which we are going to tell you about.
Specifically, there are four new devices that have been launched. Their price will depend on features such as the distance at which they can operate, as well as the size of the device. However, all of them have a new feature that was not present in previous models: the ability to ask for help.
Tile trackers can call for help
The main mission of these types of trackers or tags is to be able to know where something you have lost is. It can be anything. However, they now also include the ability to call for help. They have an SOS alert function. To do this, they use the Life360 location security app, which is available on these devices now.
But how exactly does it work? It’s activated by pressing the button on your Tile device three times. It doesn’t make a sound, which in some cases wouldn’t be a good thing, but it sends a silent alert to emergency contacts. If you can’t make a call, using this feature would be enough.
There are cases in which it could be interesting. For example, in the event of an accident in which you cannot access your phone. A fall while riding a bike, finding yourself in an emergency situation, a hypothetical robbery, etc. Any situation that no one wants to find themselves in, but if they do find themselves in it can be very helpful to have a device like this.
But of course, there are situations where being able to call a friend or family member isn’t enough. A serious accident, for example, requires an urgent call to the emergency services. And yes, this is also possible, but it comes at an additional cost. Through Life360, you can pay a monthly subscription for a service that will contact doctors or police, if necessary. Basically, like insurance.
Different models
All new devices have this feature to call for help. There are four different models: Tile Pro (priced at $35), Tile Slim ($30), Tile Mate and Tile Sticker ($25 each). The differences between these devices are not huge, as they basically change the physical appearance and the ability to use more or less Bluetooth to achieve more or less distance.
The Tile Pro version has the longest range. It can reach 120 meters, which is an increase of 30 meters compared to the previous version. This is interesting, since we are not only talking about distance in open fields, but it also improves indoors, making it easier to find any lost objects.
In short, Tile trackers now have four new models. The main novelty is that all of them have a function to call for help. In addition, they have improved Bluetooth connectivity, which allows for better coverage. You can use it as a pet tracker, for example.
