Great news for football fans. Mediaset EspaƱa has announced that we will have the opportunity to enjoy the final of the new FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2024 on DTT, totally free and open. The best of all is that Real Madrid will be one of the two teams that will play this match.

Football moves the masses and Mediaset EspaƱa wants to satisfy all fans. For this reason, they have acquired the rights to broadcast the matches of the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup. This new competition includes the champion teams corresponding to the continental federations. Only one of them, Real Madrid, is automatically qualified for the final due to the title they currently hold as European champions.

How to watch the matches?

The final will be broadcast live on DTT via Telecinco, in a move that makes it clear that Mediaset EspaƱa has not forgotten the importance of football. This match will be broadcast on December 18, so it will be an ideal time to see a session of great football from the Spanish team. However, before the final, of course, there will be other matches.

In this case, Mediaset EspaƱa will not broadcast them on DTT, but they will be available through the Mitele platform. This is also a good decision, since it will help the service enjoy extra exposure and will certainly help it when it comes to getting more users. However, it is very likely that there will be those who would also like to watch the matches on DTT.

Which teams are playing and on what dates?

Real Madrid are representing UEFA, while Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates are competing as winners of the Asian AFC. Auckland City from New Zealand are the winners of the Oceania OFC. Also joining the group is Egypt’s Al Ahly, the team that has won the African CAF trophy. Pachuca, the team that has led CONCACAF, will participate from Mexico, and for now it remains to be seen which team will participate in the South American CONMEBOL. The latter team will still need to be confirmed, as the competition does not end until November 30.

That said, we already know the dates of the first matches in which the six champion teams will participate. Tomorrow, Sunday, September 22 at 18:00 hours, the first match will be played, which will see Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates face Auckland City from New Zealand. The following dates will be October 29, December 11 and December 14. As we indicated, the final will be on the 18th and Real Madrid will participate in it, facing the team that won the previous round among the other champions.

It should also be added that Mediaset EspaƱa has made an excellent decision in confirming that JosƩ Antonio Luque will be in charge of the commentary for all the matches and not just the final. Therefore, enjoying the pre-match matches through Mitele is going to be especially interesting. In this way, we will be assured of getting to know a little better these teams that, perhaps, are not too much on your football radar. After all, at the level of legend and international relevance, the difference between Real Madrid and the other clubs is more than noticeable.

But that will guarantee us, on the other hand, a final that, more than likely, will become a great spectacle of good football. The broadcasting of more free-to-air football on DTT is really positive news, so we hope that it will continue in the future.
