You probably know some of Adobe’s programs because they are the most used for editing in professional environments. Premier, Photoshop or Lightroom are the most recognizable, but the company has a huge number of applications. What you may not know is that Adobe offers applications for smartphones and we are going to explain them to you, so that you know them better.
The American company offers some of the most widely used and reputable software in the world. They specialize in web page editing and photo and video retouching programs, among others.
Not many people know that they are the developers of Flash Player, a discontinued program for playing multimedia content. Not many people know that they are the developers of the PDF format, which later became an open standard format. We are going to focus on seven Adobe applications that you can use on your smartphone.
Adobe Acrobat Reader
We start the list with the best mobile application that allows us to open PDF files. As it could not be otherwise, Adobe’s Acrobat Reader program is also available for Android and iOS and, of course, it’s free.
This application allows you to access and read any document in PDF format, as well as highlight text. If you want to edit or sign files in this format, you will have to pay for the Premium subscription, just like on PC.
Photoshop Express
We now move on to the “pocket” version of one of the most powerful software currently offered by Adobe. We have Photoshop Express for smartphones, which allows photo editing in a similar way to the desktop version. It allows you to make adjustments to the lights, shadows, textures and clarity of images. It also allows you to reduce colour noise and crop the image to adapt it to different social networks.
It features the Split Tonning feature, which is similar to color grading, but is only for highlights and shadows. This app also allows you to add borders to images and change the shape of features. As you would expect, it is available for handsets with Android and iOS.
Lightroom CC
This is another of the applications that Adobe has imported to smartphones. Lightroom CC is considered the best application for editing photographs on mobile devices. This app has one drawback and that is that to use it we must pay a monthly subscription of 9.99 euros. We can find them in the stores of Android and iOS.
One great thing about this app is that it syncs changes across all the devices you’re logged in to. It also lets you download final edits directly to your smartphone or tablet. It also has the ability to import images from your smartphone and features a set of sliders.
Adobe Scan
Let’s go with a very useful application that allows us to save information that we may need later. The Adobe Scan tool allows us to scan any book, document or other physical item, saving it in PDF format. You have this application for both iOS as for Android.
Many mobile phones have a basic scanning function, but this tool adds additional functions such as cropping, highlighting, rotating and many more options. It has one drawback and that is that sometimes the quality of the scanned document is not the best, but the text is usually legible.
Premiere Rush
If you want to create videos for social media like Instagram or TikTok, this is the app you’re looking for. Premiere Rush is an excellent app for editing and joining clicks quickly and easily. It allows us to adjust the length of the clip and, if you pay, you can edit in 4K resolution. This app is available for smartphones. Android and iOS.
It has several presets and allows you to create your own custom settings if you want. Additionally, this application allows you to add effects, change the speed and add audio. After editing, this tool allows you to easily share it on your camera roll and publish content on social networks.
Adobe Express
Let’s start with a rather interesting tool that allows you to create fairly basic designs. Adobe Express has features quite similar to Canve, with many templates for logos, posts, and Instagram and YouTube thumbnails. Additionally, this application allows you to create text-based designs, such as posters.
A pretty cool thing we can do is collage pictures, add borders to photos, integrate different backgrounds and allow you to animate the image. Many of the features are free, but as always, some are only for those who pay. The app, like all others, is available for iOS and Android.
Adobe Creative Cloud
Most of these apps are for editing and creating different types of content, but this one is different. Adobe Creative Cloud allows us to find all the downloaded apps. This app shows all the Adobe apps that we haven’t downloaded and we can download them whenever we want.
Within the application you can search and download different types of fonts. After installing them, you can download them to use in your designs. It is quite an interesting software that offers a large number of possibilities. We can download this application on devices Android and iOS.
