DAZN could launch a new cheap plan to watch LaLiga matches

DAZN could have a solution for all those people who want to watch La Liga matches, but who think that current subscriptions are too expensive. The streaming platform could be preparing to launch a new cheap plan that would give us access to the football we want for less than usual.

DAZN prices in Spain are well known right now. If we want to watch LaLiga, we have to sign up for the DAZN Total plan, which gives us access to five matches per matchday. Of course, many other competitions, sports and benefits are included, which makes it a worthwhile subscription. But what if there was a cheaper offer that focused on football? A different plan to what DAZN LaLiga offered at the time, one that is cheaper and moderate in content.

Italy leads the way

First of all, keep in mind that nothing has been officially announced and it is possible that it will not happen this year or in the near future. But it is true that the Italian market is very similar to the Spanish one, so what has just been announced there could be reflected in our country at some point.

DAZN Goal Pass rate available in Italy

And what we are talking about is a new plan. A plan that is designed for football fans who want to pay less and who don’t care about the other sports and content that the other DAZN plans give access to. Let’s first look at the Italian proposal and then talk about it by considering how it could reach Spain. In Italy, this new plan is launched under the name Goal Pass at a price of 13.99 euros per month. There, the most expensive account has a monthly price of 59.99 euros, and then you have a Standard version for 34.99 euros and a Start version for 11.99 euros. Therefore, the fact that a football offer is launched for 13.99 euros seems like a very good proposition.

The Goal Pass is being launched as a reduced version of DAZN Plus, which is the most expensive plan. While DAZN Plus offers access to seven Serie A matches, the cheap version of 13.99 euros per month reduces the number of matches to a total of three per matchday. La Liga matches and other competitions are also included, but that is not necessary to take into account in this comparison.

What could I offer?

Given the above, the question is, how could DAZN play with the idea of a cheaper version of the service focused on football? And we are talking, of course, about Primera División matches, given that there are already options for LaLiga Hypermotion. Based on this, what occurs to us is that DAZN could make an additional package without all the other sports, leaving out some Liga matches and, for example, the Premiere League. It would be 100% football content and, to be successful, it would possibly have to have a very attractive price.

Two players fight for a ball in a soccer gameThat might lead us to think of DAZN LaLiga, the €18.99 per month plan that has been available at times. However, if we were talking about a really reduced and affordable rate like the one launched in Italy, it would have to be a different plan. If DAZN Total gives access to five matches per matchday and DAZN LaLiga offered the same, what this new plan would have to put on the table would be a reduction in the number of matches available.

That is, fewer matches = less subscription price. If we have 5 matches on DAZN Total, this subscription could have, for example, three matches per matchday. And it could be that, among those matches, there were not always those of the big teams. In this way, there would be room for some people to subscribe to the DAZN Total plan in case they wanted to watch the rest of the matches. However, as we say, it is all theory and there is nothing that has been said about what could happen in Spain. It is possible that, if something is announced, it will be soon, since we already know that LaLiga will not take long to start.
