Digi is one of the operators that is making a stronger impact in our market and specialists are looking at it with interest due to the rapid growth it is experiencing. However, there are still features in which it falls behind its closest rivals. One of the services they are missing is available on O2 and, if it were to be added to its catalogue, it could be an important addition.
Digi has quickly made a name for itself in Spain for its good prices and services. The latest report published a few days ago confirmed its high growth rate and the way it is adjusting its profit margin to continue gaining customers. It is not a bad strategy, but they still lack services that keep them away from some customers.
MultiSIM Service
This is the turning point that leads some people to opt for O2 when they are faced with the doubt of whether to contract the services of the Telefónica operator or opt for Digi. The reason for this is that, increasingly, having access to a MultiSIM service makes your day-to-day life easier and allows you to take advantage of all types of devices that are connected to the same line.

@investortrainee @o2es @movistar_es @digimobil_es I was a customer of @digimobil_es for many years and was happy with them (it’s also true that their smart fiber sometimes left me stranded until I restarted the router) but I had to change because I needed multisim on the watch for work, which they still don’t offer unfortunately 🙁

For example, the most common case we find these days is that of users who want to have a mobile contract proposal that allows them to have MultiSIM in their smartwatch. Because the adoption of smart watches has become a standard and having MultiSIM to be able to connect them and have them linked to the same line practically becomes something essential. Therefore, although it must be acknowledged that Digi’s rates are groundbreaking and that they have a service that leaves their users satisfied, the absence of MultiSIM hinders their volume of new customer acquisition.
This can be seen on X, where there are several messages in which different users acknowledge that they would be interested in Digi if the MultiSIM service were available. There are also people who mention that they previously had service with the Romanian operator, but had to switch to another company due to the need to use several SIM cards.
Could it arrive in the future?
One of the latest responses that Digi has posted on X in relation to this topic makes us optimistic. What the operator says in the message is that part of their Digi style is to listen and take into account the needs of customers. They then mention that, if they have any news on this matter, they will make sure to announce it on social media or on their website. Therefore, although it is clear that they are not confirming anything, the good news is that they are not ruling out or giving a strong denial that would make one think that it is something that is not viable.
That said, users interested in signing up for Digi’s service but who are not doing so due to the lack of MultiSIM, might be advised to keep up to date with the operator’s posts on social media. Given what we’ve seen, it wouldn’t be surprising if they announce the availability of this service at some point.
In the case of O2, the MultiSIM service arrived at the end of 2019, so it has already been a long time since they introduced it. Digi, in this case, may not be in a hurry and may be waiting to use this turn of events for a time when they want to boost portability to their service. Adding this service could therefore be among their possible future plans. It would also be necessary to see, when the time comes, what features and conditions it would have. In O2, for example, up to three SIM or eSIM cards can be linked with a price for the MultiSIM service of 5 euros per month regardless of whether one or two extra cards are used.
