Fancy pizza?
Find restaurants easily
Siri can take care of all sorts of things for you. That’s very easy, because then you don’t have to search yourself via Safari or the Maps app. For example, Siri can find restaurants for you, show information about them and show you the way to them. In this tip we explain how to request restaurant information with Siri via your iPhone, for example.
- Search restaurant
- Request directions
Catering and restaurant search with Siri
Siri can search for restaurants in several ways. If you say to Siri, “I’m looking for a restaurant,” the personal assistant will show you the nearest places. This does not take into account a specific type of restaurant. The search works on the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.
Are you looking for a restaurant chain like McDonald’s? Then you can also ask specifically about that. But you can also say things like “I’m hungry for pizza” to Siri for all kinds of pizzerias nearby. This not only allows you to search specifically by topic, but Siri also ranks the search results based on the ratings on Yelp and TripAdvisor. You can also see reviews from Apple Maps users. The nice thing about this is that Siri also tells you how well the best restaurant was rated, if that information is available.
Directions to restaurants with Siri
If you know how a restaurant knows, you can also ask for directions directly. Siri immediately calculates the route for you and starts the step-by-step navigation that leads you to the right address. If you’re not clear enough for Siri, you get a list of the different results and you can choose which address you want to be directed to. Apple Maps is used for directions.
Did you know that you can also book a table directly with Siri? You can read how to do that in our separate tip.
